Our main focus is on Grüner Veltliner in all its diversity from
the light and lively “Poysdorfer Saurüssel” with
11.5% abv, to the typical Weinviertel DAC with its spicy-peppery
aromas, the Veltliner Classic or the Rösselberg Reserve (new in
our range), our powerful Veltliner with lots of extract and potential.
Our range also contains numerous other wines, including
Welschriesling, which is also very important for the Weinviertel,
Chardonnay, Riesling, Weißburgunder and Gelber Muskateller as
well as our “love child”, Gewürztraminer, which is
sweet. Our Zweigelt Rosé is new to the range. With
the reds, Zweigelt is our most important wine, classically produced in
large oak casks, fruity and medium-bodied in style.

Poysdorfer Saurüssel – the legend lives!!!
You probably still remember the Poysdorfer Saurüssel - the
Grüner Veltiner which was famous in Austria as Poysdorf’s
white wine calling card.
After many years the legend is back! A winemakers’s
initiative with a “new” Poysdorfer Saurüssel is
drawing attention to the wine town of Poysdorf
What is in the bottle is most important
The Poysdorfer Saurüssel is a fresh and fruity, light and moreish
Grüner Veltliner. Certain defined criteria must be adhered
to, such as an alcohol content of 11.5% abv and balanced acidity and
the wine must be dry in style. Only Grüner Veltliner wines
which fulfil these criteria may be bottled as Poysdorfer
Saurüssel by the members of the initiative.
It of course goes without saying that it must be a quality wine from
the extended commune of Poysdorf.
What inspired the initiative
We winemakers were often asked about the Poysdorfer
Saurüssel. The brand was therefore revived due to popular
request. The uncomplicated wine style, as well as the new
packaging, which will no doubt cause the odd smile, should appeal to
as broad a range of wine consumers as possible.
The typical Weinviertel Grüner Veltliner is known for its
„Pfefferl“ (pepperiness) and its spicy-fruity taste.
The DAC quality and origin system was established in 2003 in Austria
and is comparable with other regulated origin guarantees such as DOC
or DOCG in Italy or AC in France. What does Weinviertel DAC
actually mean? DAC - „districtus austriae
controllatus“ guarantees the origin and quality of Austrian
If you buy a Weinviertel DAC wine then you can be sure of having a
typically spicy-peppery Grüner Veltliner from the Weinviertel of
controlled quality in your glass.
